One line that stays with me today is from my song Freak:
"He defines the right scope of his madness."
Maybe the people who go the farthest are the ones who don’t follow society’s expectations, but instead choose their own paths, their own ideas, and their own reality. Society often labels this as madness simply because it’s not familiar with new ways of thinking. The old ways are comforting—people don’t have to challenge themselves or think differently.
But maybe this is the secret recipe of those who truly push humanity forward: they hold onto their unique ideas about how the world works, what really matters, and what needs to be reimagined in order to build a better society. They were all seen as a bit different—sometimes even antisocial—but what set them apart was that they didn’t feel the need to conform. They had their own visions.
So what does this mean for you? Try stepping off the expected path. Experiment with something new. If it doesn’t work out, you can always return to where you started. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Be a creator. Don’t always overthink or overbalance your decisions. Just do.
